Onscreen: Old sibling rivalries and resentments are stirred up among a traveling drum group of four sisters when one of the sisters decides to quit.

Offscreen: Recalls Exec Producer James Lujan, "At first, we were glad when the judging panel chose "Pow Wow Dreams," because we thought this would be one of the easiest scripts to shoot because all it required was one location, a deserted road out in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, after weeks of location scouting, we realized there was no 'out in the middle of nowhere' in the Los Angeles area or the immediate outskirts.

"We finally had to go all the way out to Lancaster to find a road that worked visually for us, and, after paying for permits and an on-duty police officer and patrol car, it actually ended up being one of our more expensive and logistically challenging shoots. But given its positive reception on the film festival circuit, I'd say it was well worth the effort." But as the organization would later find out, this was just the beginning of challenges that would push SCIC to its fullest possible limits and potential.
